1. What made you decide to start dancing and when did you start?

I started in college, because my RA saw me dancing at a dorm pool party, and she said I was good at dancing, and should try ballroom dancing class.

2. What made you decide choosing Krasi as your dance teacher over other dance teachers?

Because Krasi genuinely cares about how well his students dance, especially on technique. Most other teachers teach steps, but not technique. Without technique, fancy steps will just look sloppy. And Krasi is very good at teaching technique from an logical, precise, easy to understand way.

3. What is your favorite dance and why?

Samba. Because it’s one of the most difficult, yet the most fun.

4 What is most important for you in dancing?

To have fun by looking great while doing it and receiving compliments from strangers.

5 What advice would you give to someone who is considering getting involved with ballroom dancing?

Everyone can dance. If you think you can’t dance, it is only your mind choosing not to. Dancing connects music to your mind, to your body, and provides an understanding of movement and music that you cannot otherwise understand.

Krasi Petkov is an amazing teacher. He is a true professional. Courteous to my busy schedule and dedicated to making our lesson time substantial for my dancing growth and enjoyment. He understands my abilities and challenges me to exceed my own expectations in a positive and fun environment. I leave every lesson knowing that Krasi is passionate about dance and teaching.

I started taking lessons only a few months ago. I’ve already learned so much from dancing with Krasi. He pays very good attention to detail and I feel like I learn something new from each class that I take. I appreciate his professionalism and obvious passion for his work. He is an instructor who teaches but also inspires me to dance better.

I have been dancing Latin Ballroom for a year. Although I have only been a student of his for a few months, he has been such a great coach fixing many incorrect habits of mine and I have noticed improvements in my technique. He is able to tie together professional steps with a friendly and easy-going learning environment.

I enrolled few months ago to Krasi’s group and private classes. From the very beginning he will teach you the right way. He is very patient with all of us in the group class and doesn’t show any favoritism. He does not take shortcuts in teaching, he teaches to make you perform as if you are in going to be a professional dancer. After 4 months I am entering in my first dance competition.. I highly recommend him to anyone who is interested in dancing.

I am a first time dance student in a group class. Krasi shows the dance steps and then coaches you to correct the errors. He also explains the dance concepts in an understandable way. He is friendly and conducts the class in a casual atmosphere and expects progress to get to learn more difficult steps.

I’ve had the privilege of knowing Krasi Petkov since 2003 and dancing Pro/Am with him when he was an International Latin DanceSport instructor, performer, and competitor in Alexandria, VA. Krasi is an exceptional talent, a thorough and patient instructor of integrity with a genuine love for dance and desire to bring out the very best in all of his students. He strives for excellence and provides the knowledge, skills, and expertise for his students to achieve their highest dance goals. Krasi teaches a challenging lesson, tailored to each student’s abilities, and presented in enjoyable, easy to understand elements with the insight of a master of the craft. I’ve received so many compliments over the years for my Latin dancing style and technique and our Pro/Am competition placements are a testament to his great instruction!
